Two separate standing figures in blue and white tiles of Adam (5' 10" h, 31" w) and Eve (5' h, 16" w), mounted on board; and a table top mosaic in blue and beige tiles of a snake, 17" x 16"; (Tiles created by John Pyne, an orphan in the 1920's in Massachusetts; injured his left hand and lost his eye in WWII. He created folk art through the latter part of his life and worked with pottery, tiles and figures. He fired his tiles in a kiln he built into a fireplace he reconstructed in southeastern Massachusetts. He died in May, 2007.)

PRISON BASKETS

Eight 20th c. graduated nest of oval "Prison Baskets", made by Arthur Martin, Nantucket style carved baskets with wooden bottoms, and carved swing handles, branded on bottom "A.R.M. Handcraft Basket", (1987 article in Antique Review discussing Martin and his Prison Baskets accompanies the lot), 5 1/2" to 23" l.

Rare child's Spongeware tea set: lidded teapot, lidded sugar pot and creamer with four matching handleless cups and saucers, (some pieces show cracks, chips and repairs). 

LADY LIBERTY

19th c. reverse glass painting (possibly from a banjo clock) of Lady Liberty sailing in a horse drawn shell, with the stars and stripes attached to a trident, and an eagle and shield flying above, in a gilded, oval frame, 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" (sight).

COVERLET

19th c. jacquard woven coverlet, blue with white stars, small red tulips linked with white chains, geometric border with trees, summer side with red background, 70" x 87".

19th c. red and white quilt, with 25 red eight-point stars on white background, 74" sq.
